Hi Everyone... just got home from volunteer work and we had a great morning!  Going to chill for the rest of the day, maybe head to the beach later.  For now, NEW ART for my store coming right up!!!  Hope you have a TERRIFIC THURSDAY :))

Good Morning All...*passes out coffees :)  Woke up to overcast, drizzling tropical weather today which is fine with me as I needed an excuse to stay inside for a while & work on NEW ART for my store.  So much has happened here since I posted a Dominican Republic update that I don't know where to start!  Here are some highlights:

 Beanie & the Charleton arrived safely two days ago and I'M SOOOO HAPPY!!!  Totally missed my little sis & her hubby and its great to be able to hang out with them again... now to get the rest of my siblings here :)  When they landed, S, G&G picked them up, swung by the grocery store and once everything was unloaded we all hit the pool for some relaxing time.  26 hours is a long time to travel none-stop, but although they were tired, the game of pool Frisbee was fun & their attempts at underwater synchronized swimming was hilarious!  For the first time since I arrived, the water was out here for  a few hours, so we headed down to the restaurant under the big thatched roof & enjoyed a lovely meal together, catching up on the last few months :)

Although I don't drink, I found that the guys were having a bit of trouble with the proper ratio of lime to beer combo.  The limes are picked fresh here, and are delicious, but very firm.  Fortunately, the high maturity level of T & J lead to a fix & a new sport - lime rebounding.  We have tall concrete walls here which are perfect for helping the lime to soften after repeated ''hackey sack'' moves against it.  LOLLLL... it was totally funny since the limes skin is so thick that no matter how long it was, they never broke open, just became juicy for the beers :)


This past Saturday was a workbee at the hall and tons of volunteers showed up.  My assignment was to mix this bonding agent for metal and go behind the welder, patching all of the holes in the big metal swinging gates.  I think I got more of it on myself than the gate...hahahaha... and let me tell you, its like the crazy glue of the metal world!  Fortunately it all come off after scrubbing for an hour or so at home & then having to endure a few humiliating wipe outs at the beach where I was tumbled thoroughly, resulting in bringing a ton of sand home in my bathing suit :)


Well, enough yabbering for today, time to get working.  So hope you all have a TERRIFIC TUESDAY & NEW ART coming right up!!!

Good Day Everyone... my body is totally not cooperating with the current time zone, so you may notice a complete randomness of posts at weird times :)  Going to do a thorough house-cleaning today & get the laundry all done so that we can kill off any germs that may be hovering about from us all being sick.  Guess we were bound to all take turns hacking/fevers since the one lady behind us on the plane coughed, sneezed, sighed the whole 4 hours!  grrrr... oh well, guess people who have the flu have the right to travel to.  Makes me wonder though if she had that flu which Western BC issued a health warning about, cause it is lasting ridicuously long!!!
