Good Evening All... *passes out drinks :)  Finally finished all the
airplane stopovers, flights & car drives to get to our 3 month home in the
Dominican Republic!!!   I forgot how cool it is to fly in jumbo jets:  starting
off with that rush of speed & power, looking down on the cities at night/day
*NEW YORK was really cool (waves hi to McPressure...lol) and I got to see the
Statute of Liberty in the distance while the sun was rising! It was
lovely to then break through the puffy cloud barriers and emerge into the
glorious blue sky and sunlight, bathing the tops of the popcorn clouds with a
buttery goodness.


 It is incredibly beautiful here...  the gorgous blue ocean & white
capped waves, the smiling people & the raw natural vegetation which runs
wild across the entire part of the island we flew over.  We were told it is like
this since it is apparently illegal to chop a tree down.  So the very lush
landscapes are an adventurers delight and a sharp contrast to the Haiti half of
the island!


I totally love how there are TONS of people zooming around on
motorbikes/scooters/mopeds, going every which direction on the road, winding
inbetween the vehicles & fitting an unbelievable amount people & items
on each bike!!!  We drove past all sorts of shops & open markets with people
selling fresh local produce, and pretty much everything else under the sun.  The
people are very nice & helpful & made us feel very welcomed :) 
Especially so since a  friend from 2 decades ago met us at the airport &
drove us all to our place... very cool to see them again!  Obviously we are all
a little tired now since none of us have slept much the past 3 days, but my
folks are holding up incredibly well & the rest of us are running on the
excitement of arriving in a new place :)


  I still can't believe that after all of these years, we managed to get here
at last!!!  We're looking forward to catching up with some old friends and
making new ones too. S, T & J are totally stoked and since it is New Years
tonight, they are staying in and chilling, drinking beer & playing board
games, etc.  We've all pretty much finished tidying up, unpacking our suitcases
and eating a 'bacholer' dinner of protein bars, salsa, cheese & tortilla
chips :)))  Tomorrow we will head out in the jeep to get more food and start
scoping out our neighborhood & the local beaches :)


As for tonight, well, I'm typing this on a sticky note since we can't hook up
to the internet yet, but will post it asap.  Sorry to all whom we said we would
text & let know we arrived safely, but we have no phone connection here
either.  Maybe we will have to get out of the mountainous area & down closer
to the beach?  We've actually been unable to get internet connection yet, but
hopefully the 'white hat' computer nerd skills of 'certain people' will aid in
rectifying this soon ;)  We will try and leave a voice message if we can get
through...the guys will figure it out ...lol... as we will many other things
which are different to what we are used to!  The bathroom situation is comical
already yet no one has died from waiting their turn :) 


We have a cute little mini-fridge to put a few items in and our stovetop is
hooked up to the propane, so we should be set to go.  As for tonight, we are all
gonna crash soon since a few of us in particular need to catch up on our beauty
sleep :)   Hope you all have had a fun couple of days & get a goodnight's
sleep tonight too!  NEW ART for my store & UPDATES for my website coming up
