Good Morning All...*passes coffees out :)  I think I was hit by a truck again last night, so going back to bed for a bit.  One of the pros of working for myself...hehehe.  Hope you all have a TERRIFIC THURSDAY :)  NEW ART 4 my store coming up all day since tomorrow is going to be so busy (yayyyy... I am actually going to be a model for a spa specialties collage practical exams)  I hope I look 10 years younger at the end of the day!  Even 5 years would be a total bonus ;)))

Wow... what a final night here in the DR!  Beautiful restaurant right on the ocean & we got to see whales breaching & tons of big white cap waves crashing onto the rocks the restaurant was built on!  The art show display was really neat & a ton of friends ended up meeting up with us, so it was sooo fun :))  We didn't figure out that the reason the restaurant was not nearly as full as usual until we were leaving:  apparently there were 2 murders there yesterday, so people were not in the mood to head back there too quickly :(  I don't know any other details other than the police where combing the area all day for clues, but were finished and gone before we got there, so we had no idea.   Glad we found out after our fun evening rather than before...whoa huh?!!!  The poor people :(

Well, I'm going to unwind and work on a few NEW ART designs before zzzzz's, so hope you all have a good night's sleep... tomorrow and the next day will be really hit and miss online for me since most of the time will be spent travelling on the planes.  Take care... ttys :))  Smiles, Chantelle

Last night when S and everyone got back from their beach & gallivanting time, S & I had our last date night down at Hideaway beach, where the surfers go.  It was sooooooo beautiful... when we arrived, there was hardly anyone left there, but YAYYYY.... Baby Cow (actually a little surf dog whose coloring looks like a little Jersey cow) was there still and when I called, he ran over immediately & lead us to the beach where we all sat together and watched the sunset.  He must have sensed that we were leaving since he didn't want to play fetch at all!  He just sat cuddled up to me, then between us, then back to me...lol... made me happy to have the perfect date night:  my hubby & I sitting on the sand, the beautiful ocean waves rolling in, the moon rising on one side and the sun setting on the other behind the outcropping of palm trees.  I will really miss it here, but am very glad we are going to be coming back in 3 months!   When we got up to leave, Baby Cow followed us up through the surf shacks, where this elderly Dominican man with a shotgun was sitting & exchanged smiles with us.  Next thing we knew... off went Baby Cow, trotting down the road obviously going home.  Guess the parting was harder for me than him...loll.

Of all the places I've traveled to & explored, this was by far the WILDEST, MOST RIDICULOUSLY CRAZY 2 day road trip EVER!!!!!!!!!!!  From getting lost in inner-city Santa Domingo to creeping along goat trails on the top ridges of mountains...all in 2 days!!!  From the Atlantic Ocean, to the Caribbean Ocean and back again.  From tremendously over-populated cities to 6x6 metal shacks hidden along on the tops of mountain trails, where the people look in astonishment at the crazy gringos trying to drive along the goat trails :)

I'm sure I will be dreaming of roadbumps & steep mountain cliffs on either side of the tiny road where you pray no one comes the other direction on *which was little chance of that since obviously they are rarely if ever used other than for walking on or the occasional mule or another intrepid, loco driver  ;)  I sure do luv the dominican people though... no matter where they are, in the cities or hidden up in the mountains above the clouds, they always seem to give a grin when you smile, wave or say "Hola"... although, I must admit, the best sight of all was Benjaminn coming out of our apartment complex to say hi...I just had to hug him hello!!!  We made it back ALIVE ....hahahaha... poor guy didn't know why we were so happy to see him, but he didn't seem to mind too much ;)

Hope you all had a FANTASTIC FRIDAY!!!  Since I'm borrowing this computer for a couple minutes, I'll say goodnight & wish you all sweet dreams....talk to you tomorrow :))

Good Morning All...today started off really crumby... I BROKE MY COMPUTER...WAAAAAAA :(  Right now I've managed to sneak onto a certain other person's so I could at least post a good morning update.  Totally sucks to start a day like this!!!  Going on a road trip 4 two days, so will try and access a computer somewhere along the way  to  post some NEW ART designs for my store.  So, if you don't here from me much the next little while, its not that I'm slacking off.... just trying to figure out how to make this last month in the Dominican Republic work without having my own computer to work from ;)  Hope you all have a TERRIFIC THURSDAY!!!

Good Morning All ... *passes out coffees & tea :)  Had a decent night's sleep last night for the first time in ages (okay, maybe not that long, but feels like it )  Still feeling week from my own stupidity in eating something I'm allergic too...*at least I'm not puking...hahaha.  Its totally weird, I've never had allergies before but seems like the gift of getting older includes surprising new allergies.  Guess I can have more empathy for those who have had to live with allergies all their life!  Gone are the days of seafood, coffee, alcohol, wheat and it also looks like milk products...geesh, what a change in a year huh?!

Anyways, enough rambling... Hope you all have a MARVELOUS MONDAY & NEW ART for my store coming right up....ENJOY!!!  I'm also sending out a big I MISS YOU to my siblings... and some sunshine since its winter back there in Canada :)

#SURF WAS UP! WIPED OUT BIG TIME! Had to drop everything here & head to the local beach... the waves were AWESOME... big swells which rolled way on the shoreline. Had a few good laughs at some people trying to enter the water and getting caught by the waves, resulting in total humiliation of them tumbling along the sand trying to make sure their bathing suits stayed on :))  Of course, I misjudged the last wave before I headed in and BOOM... half the wave went up my nose and the other half ripped me along the ocean floor up onto the beach my arms and legs flailing every which direction ...hahahahaha... serves me right for laughing at others :))  My skin is so soft and smooth now... like having a spa treatment with out the class and relaxation :)

Now I'm back home for the night, showered away a cup of sand and into clean clothes, ready to relax & work on some NEW ART for my store tonight.  I'm seriously thinking of buying one of those GO PRO Cameras cause it absolutely BEAUTIFUL being out in the ocean here!!!  The kids out surfing on the far corner caught some great waves... I think some of them came up from Kite Beach in Cabarete since they looked familiar. There was actually a pretty strong riptide for the first time ever and I think that contributed to the extra wild waves...ahhhhh... I LOVE LIVING HERE... *wondering how hard it would be to immigrate here :))

The money changers downtown Sosua recognize us now and always shoutout hellos and the guards with shotguns posted sporadically are used to seeing us too, which is nice.  Less chance of a problem when the guys with guns like you :))  And the 'perros' dogs across the way got out, so I was totally happy and got to scratch/pet them...I totally miss my old Rotti dog *been almost 2 yrs she's been gone now :(   So I'm extra happy to get to spend time with the beach dogs & the ones across the way!

Okay, guess I've rambled on enough for now... hope you all have a GREAT NIGHT & will be back online in a couple hours with NEW ART...
